Show Fest ABQ 2014

 Today the choirs in the area came to the fairgrounds to compete in Showfest. The 5th Ave girls group of LaCueva went 2nd out of six groups

 The was some excellent dancing

 Some beautiful singing

There group and the mixed group from La Cueva got first. Very proud of all of you. You put on a good show. (sorry for the last picture. I tried to fix it and had no success)

A weeks wind down

 This week has been a wild one. There is no better way to wind down than dinner with the husband and than a walk with the dog. Doug and I went to Paul's Monterey Steakhouse. It was like stepping back in time. The food was good- the company even better. I got to hear how my hubby got his hole in one yesterday. The very first for him. The story was no the first time. Since he got home he would say "hey, did I tell you I got a hole in one today?"

 People have been rocking the no makeup pictures on facebook so here is mine

 My pretty girl and I walked four miles after dinner

 And admired the flowers and the setting sun

what do you do to wind down?

Spring has Sprung

 I spent most of this weekend working in the yard and sleeping.

 I also took the teens clothes shopping and we watched Catching Fire and 12 years a Slave.

I did however take a moment to thank God for the beauty of spring and how the blue in the sky was a perfect backdrop for the aspen trees and the white cherry blooms.

A mug rug for Gloria

 I work with Gloria. She was one of the people that interviewed me and has been a mentor/mother figure for me. So I made her a mug rug for her birthday. It says "Without the darkness the stars woould not shine. Sweet Dreams"

 I quilted it with loops and stars and used a decorative stitch to frame it

A month or so later

 It has been a while since my last post and for that I'm sorry. Work has been busy. Life has been busy. Made a unexpected trip to the parents during my birthday. So in my last post I stated that I need to quilt. I've done very little of that. So far I've deconstruted some shorts of my friends son that passed. So far I've got his name done. Some free style and some paper pieced. I'll keep you undated on this quilt.
