What I've been up to

I have been filling my time with the PTA of the girls school. After the results of our last fundraiser, I've decided to take on a larger role and head up the fundraising for the rest ofthis year. We are kicking off a Spirit Wear Drive in November as well as Dinner Night Out events. More stuff to come after the Holidays that will include Trivia Night, Bingo, Game Night etc. Fun painless fundraising.

I have experienced that one of the ways to a persons heart is through their stomach, so for the teachers I baked 100 cookies to sweeten them up on the idea of fundraising. They are SOOOOO important and I really need them on my team.

I found these great embossed envelopes in the stationary section at Target on clearance(love the little red tags makes me happy), added some ribbon in our school color and filled them with cookies and a flyer. Wouldn't that make you want to be on board? Wish me luck! Better yet pray for our kids and teachers.

Now I also have a the square quilt just waiting for me to finish it. I just have to quilt and bind it. I'm also pulling fabrics for the ORBQA dresen plate round. I think a lot of Christmas presents are going to get made on that round. I'm thinking many wall hangings. So excited!

So now that I've told you what I've been up to, What have you been up to?
Hope you are enjoying your fall.

Much love,

Dena

  1. Full-tilt fund-raising! Good on ya!

Now I'm going to see if there are any chocolate chip cookies around here anywhere...if the teachers don't step up after those, there is something wrong with them!

  2. What a great idea to sweeten the teachers up with cookies - they look delicious! Glad you are having fun with the PTA. Trivia Night sounds like fun (I love Jeopardy & Trivial Pursuit and am full of useless, random, fun facts). Our PTA hosts a Movie Night fundraiser that does really well, especially by selling soda, juice, popcorn, candy, and other snacks. They tried to have a Family Fitness Night, but it wasn't very well-attended...
