Quick news before we are off for a week

Queen 1 is back to taking riding lessons and there is nothing as great as watching her ride. She went back to it like a duck to water.
The girls and I went up to Delaware and Philly with Soulmate to see where he has been traveling. While he was "doing his thing" we found some wonderful antique stores with lots of treasures in them. I drooled over a quilt or two.
We also found this!

Soulmate took us to Reading Termial market in Philly. I am not a city girl but it was fun to see and I was very thankful he was the one doing the driving. I would have had a heart attack. Lots of goodies and treats at the market.
We will have to go back and explore more. There was so much to see. I think I'm a little in love with Chadds Ford PA and parts of Delaware.

Back home

I immediately thought to make Nana's frittata recipe out of the big zuchini I got. We had cucumber and tomatoes salad- all stuff out of Lisa's garden. Yummy!!
Then we had to freeze all the goodies we got at Chase farms because there is no way we could eat it fast enough and I can only make cobbler every great little while or I would look like a truck. The corn is the sweet corn that is just like sugar.Queen 2 doing some tracing by window. She was feeling crafty.

We are back from the bestest whirlwind trip

Backyards- yes my friends that is what you are seeing and what I am writing about. You know I miss my beloved upstate NY with all my people up there- don't you? Main reason- family- the chosen kind and the feel of that place. It just screams family and kid filled fun- wholesome fun that doesn't cost alot of money.  We walked in the village and picked berries and swam and went to Lollypop farm and just played outside. There is never enough time to be in the place that you love with the people you loved, but we did our best to get in some good visits. There are quite a few people that I didn't even get to hug but I'm hoping next summer to be up there for 2 weeks- God willing. If you would like to see more of our pictures from the trip click here.

Doll Quilt Swap 9

This is the quilt I made for the Doll Quilt Swap9 on Flickr. I think I'm going to call it Magical Mushrooms. I just have to make a label and when I get back from our west coast I can send it off to it's new owner. Yeah!

Special Company

We had some special guests this weekend. Our friends from NY came down to hang out with us for a couple days. I had so much fun with them I forgot to take pictures. Good thing we are going up to see them this week. This was the works of art they made on my drive way and Sister you will be pleased to know the nieghbors have stopped to comment on the poke a dots on the van. They made quite the hit! After the "you may not park here" ticket Sister receive from the snootyville HOA I doubt they will be coming back anytime soon. Rude HOA!!!! My pictures from up there will be better because after all that is God's Country.

Project LOVE

Last night the church had an organization of the stuff donated for Project Love. This is where they are giving out school supplies to those that need it, so the girls and I went over to help out for a few hours last night. They were really good and seperating and counting everything.

Below is a block for Asiyah. She is making a "Quilt of Valor" for a colleague in Afghanistan.

stitching time

I have joined Hoop UP round 2 and my theme this go around is circles. I've seen some great circle stitching on Flickr and think it would make a beautiful wall grouping. Above is my first piece to show my group my theme.

I also joined the Doll Quilt Swap another fabulous Flickr group. I am going to do a Magical Mushroom quilt and now have all of my mushrooms stitched and now just have to put it all together. Deadline is Sept. 15th but we are going up to NY and then out to NV and CA before school starts so I'm feeling like I should get this done.
