  1. Dena congratulations at your one year of quilting and blogging 300 post is pretty amazing and your quilts are beautiful. I am working on another little quilt for DQS8 and a wonky star quilt using Heather Ross material amongst many other projects started and not finished. I also wanted to wish you a Happy 40th Birthday. Thanks for a great giveaway. I agree this community has created some great friendships and inspired me also, I have been quilting on and off for about 10 years but since last summer when I discovered blogging and flickr the inspiration and scence of community is so wonderful it encourages me to try things I have not tried before. I love it. So thanks again.

  34. Right now I am working on a project with my grandmother. A bazillion years ago she crocheted an afghan of hexagons which I absolutely love, but which my father will not give up until the many-years away time of his death. :) So gram and I have been looking it over and recreating the pattern. Because it was made of a less-than-worsted weight yarn, and because I'm poor, we've also been to some thrift shops and purchased some old afghans; we're working on frogging them and winding the yarn to use!!!
Thanks for the chance at winning your very generous giveaway!

  59. Wow, 300 posts in a year is almost a post a day! What dedication! And I promise 4-0 doesn't hurt a bit. Just dim the lights a little and you won't even see those wrinkles.

Currently under the needle of our sewing machine are some pieces for a bean bag chair for my two-year old nephew. It's made from the Brown Bear fabric by Eric Carle and I can't wait to share. Next up (since the mailing deadline is looming and I haven't started) is a little quilt for my DQS8 partner. Who might it be?

I've enjoyed browsing your blog and pictures from snow days. Thanks again for hosting a giveaway!

  63. This is a beautiful giveaway. I am working on a list of finishes. During my post-holiday cleaning burst I discovered that there were 18 works in progress in my sewing life. To some that may seem like many, and to some very few, but I want to be done with them so they can get to their intended destinations. (How will people know I love them if all that love is in boxes in my sewing space???)

This fabric would be a very nice beginning to new projects. Thanks.

  77. That is such lovely fabric; I especially like the Tea Garden ones. I've been working on a quilt for a new granddaughter due in April...she'll be the family's first girl after four boys! So it's gotta be special! I'm making pink dresden plates. Also, one of my girls is turning 21 and she asked for a 'me' designed purse. That's what I gave her last year...so I'm thinking of something with yoyos attatched...finally got most of those done! freeindeed at myfairpoint dot net
