So Blessed

It was Birthday week at our house this past week. Riley turned 12 and I turned not 12, (just add 30 to her number). We had a great week full of events and just tried to really live in the moment of each one. Riley had a party with three of her closest friends and I was so proud of the girls she puts around herself. They were all sweet, good girls, who were respectful and thankful for everything we did. Movies and dinner with a good dose of trampoline in there.

There was gymnastics twice this week with the handstand contest. Guess who won again?

Avery had two concerts. Of course both of them the same nights as gym. Thank goodness for my Soulmate. I got to see one of the concerts and man can that girl sing!!! She hits notes that are off the chart and to think in Virginia she was singing alto. Here they have her as Soprano 1 or 2 -I forget which. Whichever one hits all those super high notes and accurately. So proud of both of our girls and so blessed to have the family I have. Thank you for all the birthday wishes.

Numbers

Life lately has been a bunch of numbers. The biggest of numbers is 12. My angel baby is having a birthday today. Getting so big. It is so rude how quickly they grow up.

24 cupcakes to share with our friends at gymnastics. From stratch- thank you very much.

3- Ohio star blocks with three more to make.

4 log cabin blocks - the beginning of the doll quilt I'm making for my partner.

47 wpm is what I've worked up to typing

2 hours of paperwork I filled out for Michaels

3 times I've called my high school for my transcripts

9 my testing time for a job

1 major lesson- take life one day at a time be in the moment and make the most of each one.

What we woke up to

Well some of us were a little slow to wake up

But it snowed last night. We woke up to four inches of wet snow.

it made everything so pretty and bright. The kids were really bummed they had to go to school. I was really bummed the roads, parkinglots and sidewalks still had lots of snow on them. One of the poor teachers got his car hit by a bus as he was trying to get to school. We're not in New York anymore and if this was Viriginia they would have called it a day, heck if there were clouds in the sky they called it a day:)

But you can't deny how pretty it is and we are so thankful for some moisture.

I would like to share my favorite verse about love. It's 1 Corinthians 13:4-7,13
Love is patient and kind.
Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.

Three things will last forever- faith,hope and love and the greatest of these is love.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that everone who should believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life- John 3:16

Early in the Morning

This isn't my time of day. I admit it. I would rather be under the covers, all snuggled in until 9 or so. My days of raising toddlers and having "pj" days are long gone. Now it's Early morning alarms and getting kiddos here there and everywhere. But this morning, I looked out my bathroom window to this. Pictures don't quite do it justice. The full moon, the city lights, the tint of pink in the sky.

As the sun rose it turned into this.

Our mountains with the sun just behind them. The beginning of the day. The early morning. Not my normal time of day, but what a gift of beauty this morning.

And I couldn't resist the tree with the nest in it.

Doll Quilt Swap

Its Doll Quilt Swap time again. I'm so excited. This is the 12th round. I've been doing these since DQS7. I've met some great gals, been inspired out the whazoo, and have had fun encouraging fellow quilters. Quilting to me is about sharing your love to create and whatever you make for me partner will be loved. Above is quilts from the last round. I couldn't decide what to send so my partner got two. The pink one is the one I received. Fun Stuff.

Look at how my quilt has grown. Round two complete and now being sent across the pond to be loved on some more. Krista added the top half starting with the white stars. I am so loving it.
