It is Done!!!

Wahoo it is done. My fingers will never be the same after handsewing that binding, but I love it!

A little extra love

Quilting all day yesterday. It made the sound of the construction next door go away.

Today was a ME day

We all need ME days and today was mine. After three months I went and got my hair and eyebrows done and no longer resemble someone from one of the horror movies my family likes to watch. I say that with jest.

I love the spa smells of herb and peace and tranquility. The smells alone are enough to rejuvinate me. After the treatments I went and got tomato soup to take home for lunch with some yummy crusty bread, for what is soup without bread? Totally yummy! The two pups were looking up longingly at me from the floor. I spent some time on Flickr and computer surfing and then the queens came home and I took them to the library to get books. Came home with a bagful of crafting and quilting books to go through and then Soulmate says he wants to take the family out to dinner. Darn twist my arm. Totally rocking day. Yippee!

( It only took four tries to find a pic I liked. Taken by me and each one of those ladies looked like someone different than me. Tee Hee. Not so easy me thinks. )

Snow you can play in

Wahoo..... The real deal.... About half a foot of fluffy white stuff. Lots of snow angels and rolling down hills in the stuff.

Sneak Peeks

Sorry about the side view. I can't get this to rotate. Anyway... all I need to do is quilt and bind it and then it is done and can be sent to it's new home. I hope the owner likes it. It is made with lots of love.
This is really fun. I got the three fabrics on the side at Joann's in the rementant section. 50% off of 50% off. I'm such a sale girl! Thrill of the hunt and all. The dog fabric in the middle was on sale from the Debbie Mum collection. Not something I would normally get but I got the Sublime Stitchery book for my Bday and stitched the dogs from a mix of patterns and thought what a cute handbag or market bag it would make. So this is on the short list of projects. I have Queen 2's birthday party this Saturday so I may have to spend some time putting that together.
We dug ourselves out of the snow and the plowguy for the roads plowed the lower portion of our driveway as Soulmate and I were shoveling. Totally cool plow guy!!!! We went to the Minute Clinic and I got swabbed twice and first test for strep came up negative, sending in the other for a re test. Kids are sooooooo going to school tomorrow. I'm getting my hair done finally- a month later than I was suppose to but I had to cancel last appt because of the ice skating fiasco. Feel like I'm on the mend and ready for life as usual to come back into play.

Still Sick with a Snow Day

Queen 1 and I are still fighting whatever we picked up from school. Thank you all you parents who send your kids to school coughing all over everyone. Nope- I'm not bitter. We tried to go to the Minute Clinic to have the strep test done but there was a wait list of 10 with one woman to serve everyone so instead of hanging out with more sick people we went home. Enough bitterness.
Above is the fabrics I'm using for the wall hanging with the Badbird stitchery. I've been working on it a little each day and I'm 40 % done. I'll post some sneak peeks later.
The snow is still falling. We have about 5 inches so far. Soulmate and the rest of his office stayed home from work. All the schools in WV,VA and MD are home today. The plows for the roads are really behind so we are hanging out here. Thank goodness we have groceries and milk and TP. I have a feeling we are going to be here a while.
